Prosopagnosia

Face blindness: an inability to recognise faces, including familiar ones. Sometimes confused with aphantasia, but a distinct condition.

Prosopagnosia is about recognising faces when you see them. Aphantasia is about picturing faces when you do not. The two can co-occur but are driven by different brain systems and have different clinical significance.
