Autobiographical memory
Memory of one’s own life. A combination of episodic (re-living) and semantic (knowing-about) components.
People with SDAM typically retain the semantic layer of autobiographical memory — they can recount their own chronology — but have little or no access to the episodic layer. They know the shape of their life; they cannot step back into it.
