Episodic memory
The re-livable kind of memory — recalling a specific event in a way that feels like returning to it.
The term comes from Endel Tulving in the 1970s. Episodic memory is the kind that lets most people mentally time-travel back to a holiday, a conversation, or a funeral. SDAM is defined as a severe deficit in this capacity, even though semantic memory and general cognition are intact.
